Fun with friends!

We had two fun playdates this week with Mason and Connor's friends Carter, Ella, Ava and Keegan!

Ella is Mason's best bud Carter's little sister. She was born only a couple of weeks ago and Connor loved meeting her! He looked like such a giant next to her!

"Mommy what is this little thing?"

"Hmm I need to take a closer look"

"I think I like her!"

We love these sweet friends!

Mason also had lots of fun seeing his little girlfriend Ava. We have gone from living across the street, to a couple of miles away to now 40 minutes away. This definitely makes us a little sad but I am sure we will still see each other often!

Mason insisted on wearing his cowboy bandana and carrying his pirate sword....

Brotherly Laughs

I took this video while Mason was in the bath last night. The quality is horrible but I wanted to remember how much these two adore each other!

7 Months!

Connor, you are SEVEN months old! I say this every month but seriously where has the time gone?? I can't believe you are over halfway through your first year! This month you have just brought pure joy to our lives. Your little personality gets bigger each day and you are such a social little guy. You always get comments from strangers on how smily you are and what big dimples you have! You also love to cuddle and would be perfectly content being held in our arms all day. You also love to "talk" and make noises at anyone who tries to talk to you! You are such a miracle Connor and we love you so much!

You are obviously very excited to be over half a year old now!

And because I couldn't pick just one:

Here is what you are up to at seven months!

You weigh around 17 pounds. (we go Friday for a weight check so I will know for sure then!)

You wear mostly six month clothes but are fitting into some nine month things too.

IMG_5595

You are such a chill, easygoing little guy. When I was pregnant and found out you were a boy, I was worried that you would be as active as your older brother! I love that about him but didn't know if I could handle two like that! On the contrary you are completely the opposite! Not in a hurry to do anything, much more interested in people than other things around you and so calm! I'm so thankful for that!

IMG_5452

You are a great little sleeper. You go to bed at 7:30....ON THE DOT! and sleep until around 6:30 or 7. You are so silly because without me even trying you started putting yourself to sleep at 7:30. Now I joke that at 7:30 you turn into a pumpkin! We were at dinner with your Nana and Grandad a few weeks ago and when the clock struck 7:30, you cuddled up with your lovey and rolled to your side in your carseat and fell asleep! In the middle of a loud restaurant!

IMG_5479

You adore Mason. Each month you two have started to interact more and more and you are developing such a close bond with each other. He will lay on the floor and talk baby talk to you and you just look up at him with a huge grin. It melts Mommy's heart!

You are still not mobile but are showing a little interest in trying to army crawl. I wouldn't be surprised if you start that sometime this month!

IMG_5615

You have one tooth and another one coming in right behind it!

You always have been and still are SO vocal! You coo, babble, scream, squeal you name it, you are constantly doing it! You are trying to make some actual words too! I've heard baba couple of times and it really sounds like you are trying to say "mama" when you cry!

IMG_5613

Connor Benjamin- we love you so much! It makes me sad that you are closer and closer to leaving your baby days behind but I know that so much fun is ahead of us!

Life lately

Our life has been busy lately to say the least! Last Friday we moved into our new house! All of our family is in the Denton area and we had been wanting to get closer to everyone for a while. The 45 minute drive to see our parents and Jared's brothers was getting a little rough and we weren't seeing everyone as much as we would like! We found a house we really liked in Corinth and decided to rent out our Mckinney house. We quickly found a renter for that house and closed on our new house only a few weeks later! Despite the boxes everywhere, we are trying our best to get settled in! Mason and Connor are loving their new house and Mason especially likes his new playset! I'm not sure how we lucked out and found another house that just happened to have one already there!

Apparently the stress of moving wasn't enough for me, because with everything going on we also decided to throw potty training into the mix! I had definitely planned to wait until after the move for this but a couple weeks before we moved, Mason seemed more than ready. One day during his nap he took his dirty diaper off, folded it up and gave it to me. Then he told me" I'm all done with diapers Mommy". Wow okay....I figured that was definitely a sign it was time! We are taking things slowly and just having him wear his "big boy undies" when he is at home but still wear diapers when we go places. He has gone from having a few accidents a day to now only a few accidents a week so we are getting there! I did venture out to Target with him wearing his undies today and he made it accident free! I had told him when we started potty training that he could have a certain drum he had been wanting if he got really good at using the potty. Today I figured he has definitely done enough to earn the drum! He's been playing with it now for about two hours straight and while it is certainly LOUD it is keeping him busy!

He's so proud of himself!

And I couldn't make this post without sharing Connor's exciting news too! He's finally getting a tooth!! I remember telling his dr. at his 4 month appointment that I thought he was getting one any day because of all the teething symptoms and drool. Apparently my timing was little off but now, three months later it is coming through! He's also been doing so much better with naps and sleeping but I will wait until his 7 month post for those details!

Connor is all smiles about his new tooth!

Big Orange Pumpkin Farm

Yesterday we visited my very favorite pumpkin patch, the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm in Celina! It's great because it is a real pumpkin patch where the pumpkins are actually grown in a field and not just placed there for a few weeks! They also have a hayride, animals to feed and tons of cute photo ops! We got tons of rain on Sunday so by yesterday it was pretty muddy but that didn't stop Mason from having fun! Connor also enjoyed his first pumpkin patch visit although he wasn't a fan of the hay and screamed every time I tried to put him down in it.

Sweet boys. Did I mention how impossible it is to get a picture with both of them looking at the camera much less smiling?
IMG_5430

Apparently Mason told Connor something pretty funny here!

Mason with his best little friend Carter. They had lots of fun having sword fights with the hay. Two year old little boys never cease to make me laugh. :-)

I took full advantage of Connor not being mobile and had a little photo shoot!

An interview with Mason

I had a little interview with Mason during breakfast this morning. I've tried to do this a few times before but he normally clams up when I bring out the camera. He cooperated pretty well today though. I know I am going to miss his sweet little voice one day!

6 Months!

Connor you are 6 (and 1/4) months old! I'm a little late getting this post up but I figure better late than never!

IMG_5263

Here is what you are up to this month!

- You weigh 15 pounds 11 ounces
- You are 27 inches tall

At your six month appointment your doctor said you were absolutely perfect except for one thing. You're weight percentiles had dropped a little more than they like and you had gained less over two months than they want to see. Apparently strictly breastmilk wasn't giving you the calories you needed so we introduced formula and also increased your solids each day. You already seem so much happier to be getting the extra calories and it seems to be helping your sleeping as well! After a fussy few weeks, we are definitely glad to have our laid back and easygoing little guy back!

- You have really started noticing things around you this month. You love to grab for everything in your reach and are so fascinated watching what is going on (your brother playing and tv especially!).

- You are still not quite sitting up on your own. You can hold yourself up in a little tripod pose but still fall forward or backwards without the help of your arms. I'm fine with your slower way of doing things though because it makes me feel like you are my baby for a little longer! I'm not ready for you to be on the move!

- Speaking of on the move, you have really taken to rolling this month. You've been rolling over for a couple of months now but normally just did it when you had to. For the last few weeks though, rolling is your main form of transportation!

- You have been eating more solids and so far have tried sweet potatoes, squash, peas, bananas and apples. When you tried apples you made the funniest little pucker face I have ever seen. You seem to like most things we give you so I'm hoping this means you will be more of a vegetable eater than your brother!

- You are sleeping a lot better at night! You go to bed around 7:30 or 8 and normally wake up around 4 to eat. Last night though, you slept from 7:30 pm to 7 am! Mommy feels so refreshed today!

- You still are not a fan of naps. It's so funny to me how you go right down to sleep without any crying at night but completely fight it during the day! For now you are napping in your swing again because it is the best way to get you to actually nap!

Happy 6 months sweet Connor! I can't believe you are halfway to ONE!!
