Christmas!

We had a great Christmas this year. It was really cute to see Mason getting so excited about his presents and to see Connor experience his first Christmas.

On Christmas Eve we went to church then came home and had some family over. The Christmas Eve service has always been one of my favorite parts of the holiday season! Here are the boys before we left.

Christmas morning we woke up and had Christmas with the four of us before getting together with the rest of our family!

Mason's first gift he spotted was his scooter. I'm hoping he has years of fun with this!

Connor had fun opening gifts too although he was way more interested in the paper and bows than the actual presents!

Mason couldn't wait to open the biggest present under the tree- his pirate ship!

I loved having TWO sweet babies this Christmas!

For lunch we headed to Jared's brother's house to celebrate with my parents and the rest of Jared's family!

Here are all the sister in laws and all the brothers!

Jared's Grandad used to have a "change sock" for him and his brothers every Christmas. They would put their hand in one at a time and grab out as many coins as they could. This year his dad started the tradition with our boys! Mason was pretty proud of his handful of change. He wouldn't even let me hold it long enough to count it.

Connor and his cousin Austin. Doesn't he look SO big here?

Christmas Randoms!

We have been having a fun and busy Christmas season! Mason is at such a fun age for everything and we are just enjoying every minute of it! Here is a little of what we have been up to!

Buddy the elf has been at our house for a few weeks now and has been reporting Mason's (and Connor's) behavior to Santa each day! Every morning Buddy is in a new place and Mason loves to search for him! Here are some of our favorite spots!

A few days ago, we took the boys on the Polar Express Train in Grapevine! It was so much fun! We told Mason we had a surprise for him and told him he had to wear his pajamas. He didn't know we were going on a train ride until we got there! Connor loved it too and was squealing the entire time!

Today we went to see our sweet friends Ava and Keegan! Mason and Ava had lots of fun making sugar cookies although they spent much more time eating the m&m toppings than anything else!

It was fairly warm today and Mason and Ava decided to have a water fight in the backyard. Wow never thought I would be seeing that in December!

Don't worry Ava got him right back!

Jingle Bells

Celebrating Christmas with Mason is SO fun this year. He is really into it and gets so excited about everything. One of the many things I am loving his is love of Christmas songs! His two favorites are "Away in a Manger" and "Jingle Bells" and he requests we sing them often! Here he is singing Jingle Bells!

Holiday Recipes!

I'm joining www.kellyskornerblog.com to share your favorite holiday recipes! These are the absolute easiest, and tastiest (although not healthiest) toffee bars ever!

Toffee Bars
2 sticks butter
1/2 cup of sugar
1 sleve of Graham Crackers broken into single segments
1 cup slivered almonds

Line a cookie sheet with Graham Crackers

IMG_6198

Melt butter. Stir in sugar and bring to a slow boil.

IMG_6199

Cook 2 minutes and spoon over crackers. Sprinkle almonds on top and bake for 10 minutes at 350.

IMG_6203

Lift carefully from pan and place on waxed paper until cool. It's important you do this quickly or else they will stick to the pan!

Family Pictures

We had family pictures done a few weeks ago and I love the way they turned out! I was amazed that we actually got a few with both boys smiling and looking at the camera! That's not an easy task these days! We had them done at the Grapevine Train Depot which was the perfect location for a two year old who is obsessed with trains! Here are some of my favs.
