Baby names and Mason at 21 months!

After months of going back and forth on names, we finally agreed on a name for our new baby boy!

Connor Benjamin Tye

We had tentatively decided on a few other names but would always change our mind because they just never seemed to fit! Connor was one of our top three choices for Mason so we figured since we have liked it that long, we should use it for baby brother! Mason picked up the name immediately and now refers to my tummy as "baby Connor."

On a completely different note I wanted to post some of my favorite things Mason is doing at 21 months! I say this for every month, but so far this truly is my absolute favorite age! He is just SO fun, has very few tantrums and is communicating with us so well! Here is what Mason is up to at 21 months:

-He is in a very loving phase. He constantly comes up to me and says "Mommy hug!" or "Mommy kiss!" The other morning after his bath he gave me a long hug and then smiled at me and said "Mommy friend". This little guy has completely stolen my heart. I will be sobbing at his wedding one day knowing I won't be the only girl in his life anymore.

- He loves babies right now! The last two babies he has been around, he has wanted to hug, kiss, and rock. I'm hoping this keeps up for Connor's arrival!

- He seems to somewhat understand that he is going to be a big brother. He tells me there is baby in my tummy and understands that his old nursery is now Connor's room. This morning he was opening and closing the door to the nursery and saying "Hi Connor!" "Bye Connor!"

- He loves all things boy. Dinosaurs, trucks, balls and trains are his very favorite things.

- He knows a lot of his colors, the names of most animals, and all of his body parts. He has started pointing out objects and saying their name and color now. He also recently started telling me what color shirt he wants to wear in the mornings. So far, yellow and green are the most often requested!

- He is a huge Sesame Street fan. Every morning when he wakes up he asks for milk and "Melmo."

- He absolutely loves playing with his friends. Anytime we leave a playdate he spends the entire ride home saying "more friends." Its so cute to watch him interact with other kids.

- He is still sleeping well in his big boy bed and his taking great naps! There have been many afternoons lately where he will nap for three hours! He must know that I really need the extra break right now!

30 weeks!

IMG_1336
Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along
: 30 weeks

Size of baby: About three and a half pounds and the size of a cantaloupe!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 20 pounds....hmmm not sure how much longer I am going to be answering this question

Maternity Clothes: I'm wearing maternity shirts but wearing regular jeans with the bella band.

Gender: Boy!

Movement: I feel him much more lately! He must really be running out of room because I will feel him about five different places all at once! Jared FINALLY felt him move too! He was talking to him the other morning and he started kicking back in response!

Sleep: Sleeping okay other than wanting to sleep on my back and waking up with heartburn.

Symptoms: Heartburn and just starting to feel really worn down by about 2:00 each day! I'm sure carrying around my little 26 pound buddy isn't helping!

What I miss: Having energy!

Cravings: Oranges, anything with marinara sauce

Best Moment this week: I went to visit a friend's one week old baby and took Mason with me. I was a little nervous about how he would act, but he spent most of the time kissing and hugging her! He was so sweet around her that it made me that much more excited to see him around his own sibling!

What I am looking forward to: Meeting our new little guy! It's getting so close!

Mason's Day at the Museum

Jared was off of work yesterday so we decided to take Mason to the Science Museum! They have a "Dinosaurs Alive" exhibit there right now and since Mason is the world's biggest dinosaur fan, we knew he had to go! They also have a great children's museum!

Since the dinosaurs are really large and lifelike, we worried that Mason might be a little scared and not know what to think. He proved us wrong though and was not scared at all and kept dragging us from one dinosaur to another. Each time he saw a new one he would shout, "Hi Dinosaur!" We had to drag him out of the exhibit when it was time to leave. I am pretty sure he would have stayed to hang out with the dinos all day if we had let him.

Last night, he woke up around 10 and came into our room roaring like a dinosaur and saying "more dinosaurs!". It was also the first thing he said when he woke up this morning. Perhaps we have a little paleontologist on our hands?

Here are some pictures from our day at the dinosaur exhibit and the children's museum.
