10 Months!

Connor, you are TEN months old! Sweet baby boy....how did that happen SO fast??? I say this every month but please stop growing up!

This was the first month where it was nearly impossible to get your picture! I think you climbed or fell out of the chair at least a dozen times before I finally got you to sit still!

Here is what you are up to this month!

You are a busy, busy boy! It took you a while to get there, but you are finally getting into everything! You are a speedy little army crawler and even though you spend a good half of your day on your knees rocking back and forth in a crawling position, you have yet to officially take off crawling. You also started doing this:

I'm not sure where you think you are going exactly but it sure is cute to watch!

You are wearing a size 3 diaper and 9 month clothes. You are still a little guy but with all that you eat that might change soon!

You are sleeping from 7:30-7 at night and take two (fairly short) naps a day.

I've known this for a while but the older you get the more I realize how very different you are from your big brother! He is more active, you are easy going. He is bashful and sometimes even shy, you are social to everyone you meet . He was more daring and you are much more cautious. I could go on and on!

You have the sweetest little temperament. I still remember how when your brother was this age he started laughing when I would tell him "No". Last night you accidentally bit me with your EIGHT teeth and I firmly told you "No". You definitely did not laugh, instead you looked at me as if you could not believe I was letting you down then burst into tears! You quickly got over it with a hug and I will have to be more careful telling you "No" next time now that I know how sensitive you are!

You are eating a lot more table food and I am slowing trying to wean you off of baby food. Last night for the first time, you ate the exact same thing we did for dinner! You LOVE real food!

Lakehouse trip

We took a little overnight trip to Jared's family lakehouse in East Texas over the weekend. The weather has been in the 70's so we thought it would be the perfect time to go! We had a good time but also discovered Connor hates sleeping in the pack n play so we will have to try and find another solution for that before we go out of town again! Here are some pics from the trip.

A few nights ago while at Target, Jared bought Mason a nerf gun. I'm sure this is just part of the rites of passage of being a boy mom but it's something I was hoping to put off a while longer! Just the thought of getting pounded by darts at random times throughout my day was not something that sounded fun! But....Jared won (along with some convincing from Mason) and now we are the proud owners of not one but THREE nerf guns. Hooray! :-) I do have to say though, it's pretty cute to watch the daddy/son bonding that the nerf gun encourages. I snapped some pics of both "boys" playing in the yard this afternoon with their new toys. I'm pretty sure Mason will be asking to do this quite often!

Catching up

I am really behind on the blogging this month! These two precious boys are keeping me busier than ever and not leaving much free time! Some of these pictures are a few weeks old but I wanted to share anyway!

On New Years Eve, we had a little family reunion with some of Jared's extended family. It was lots of fun seeing everyone! Here are Mason and Liev ready to party!

Connor was ready for 2012!

We were there a couple of hours past his normal bedtime but he was such a trooper. He fell asleep in someone's arms, then slept soundly in his carrier despite all the noise!

Mason got a shaving kit for Christmas and has loved playing "Daddy" in the tub!

Last week, Mason started preschool! He is only going one day a week for now but it is perfect for him and gives me some time to get stuff done and have alone time with Connor! When I dropped him off he walked right in and starting playing. He could of cared less that I was leaving! It was a little sad for me to see that he didn't need me there but I was so proud of him for being so brave! He had a great first day and came home telling me all about the letter J! Here he is before we left that morning!

Last weekend we took the boys to the Children's Museum! Mason had been once before about a year ago but could really enjoy all of the activities now that he is older.

9 Months!

Connor you are NINE months old! I'm still not sure where the last nine months have gone or how they passed so quickly! You continue to bring such joy to our family and we love watching your little personality develop more and more. It is completely crazy to me that it is almost time to start planning your FIRST birthday! Here is what you are up to this month!

You weigh 17 lbs 12 ounces which puts you in the 8 % for weight. With all that you eat I don't know how you are this small! Your doctor is fine with your weight though and you are following your (little) growth curve perfectly.

You are 30 inches tall which puts you in the 91 % for height! You are evidently going to be tall and skinny which is just like your brother!

You are eating a lot lately! You have 4 8 oz bottles a day and three solid meals along with some snacks throughout the day. You love yogurt melts, puffs and baby mum mums. You are starting to feed yourself but still have a little trouble with the puffs since they are so small! You are starting to eat some table food and have tried grapes, blueberries, beans, bread, bananas, potatoes and cheese.

You still sleep great at night (7:30 pm - 6:30 or 7 am) and take two naps a day. Your afternoon nap is normally the same time as your brother's which is nice for Mommy!

You are saying "Mama" but it's mostly when you are sad or about to start crying! It still counts though and I'm pretty excited that you decided to say mama before dada! (unlike your big brother!) You have also started babbling a lot and continue to make happy shrieking sounds. This is especially fun when we are in public!!

You are wearing a size three diaper and mostly 6-9 month clothes.

You are almost crawling. For almost a month now you have been up on your hands and knees rocking back and forth. You will sometimes army crawl to get something you really want but rolling is still your favorite form of transportation. I think your not crawling is more of just a lack of effort and interest and not a lack of ability. You just seem to be happiest sitting on the floor playing with your toys and that is fine by me!

You have 7 teeth and two more about to poke through! This has been a busy teething month for you....4 teeth in one month!

You are starting to develop some separation anxiety. We went through this bad with your brother and I was hoping we would escape it with you but that doesn't seem to be the case. You have started crying when we leave you at church and now even cry when I leave the room. I'm hoping this is something that is just a very short phase!

You are still such a happy and smiley baby. When we are out in public you will smile and sometimes even shriek at anyone who gives you attention! The picture below was taken at the children's museum over the weekend. I sat you down to try and get a picture and you wouldn't stop smiling at the random stranger standing to your side!

You still absolutely adore your big brother. The two of you are starting to really play together now and it melts Mommy's heart. You will sit and watch him and just laugh and laugh at the funny things he does!
