Creek Pictures!

My friend Ashley told me a while back about this little creek nearby our houses. We had seen some other photographers take pictures there and thought it would be fun to try it out with our kids. While it didn't go exactly as planned, we got a few cute shots! I definitely loved the location and would go back to try again sometime!

 Notice the dirt around Connor's mouth? That would be because he decided to go right into the water the second we got there and was covered with sandy, muddy, dirt the rest of the time! LOL!

Connor's 1st Haircut!

I love Connor's hair so I had put off getting it cut for a while and it was way overdue! Today we took both boys to get haircuts at this adorable old barbershop on the Mckinney square. They had the sweetest lady cutting their hair....we will definitely be using her every time from now on! Connor did a really good job, he didn't freak out nearly as much as Mason did at his age! Here's a few pictures for you. :-)

Weekend Getaway

We decided last week to take a quick overnight trip somewhere fun with the boys. We wanted somewhere close since it would only be one night and ended up deciding on Granbury and Glen Rose! We had lots of fun at the beach by their lake, exploring the town square, swimming in the river and going to a drive through safari! This post will have waaaay too many pictures but I had trouble narrowing it down! Here's the beach right next to our hotel! The boys loved it!

 That evening we found an adorable little antique store down the street from our hotel. There were soooo many cute photo spots around but by this point Connor had fallen asleep in his stroller. I did get a few cute ones of Mason by an antique truck though.

 





Jared bought Mason a new cowboy hat and he wore it EVERYWHERE the rest of the weekend!

 The next day we went to Big Rocks Park in Glen Rose. It is covered with these huge natural rocks and overlooks the river! Of course Mason had to get in...







 We quickly ditched their shorts and swam in undies and diapers! I love how Connor was trying to
follow them here!

Finally we went to the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center! This was a really cool experience! Ostriches, Zebras, Giraffes, Moose, Deer and other animals came right up to our car!









 Such a fun weekend!

Swim Lessons!

Mason started swim lessons this week! It's definitely been and interesting experience! We had talked about him starting them for weeks now, read books about swim lessons and gone over how brave he was going to be. He seemed excited so I really thought he wouldn't have any issues. Then he had his first day on Monday and I quickly realized I was wrong about that! We spent about 75% of the first day trying to just get him to go in the water. I was bribing him with ice cream (bad I know!), calling Daddy so he could motivate him, begging and pleading and nothing was working! Finally though, when the class was almost done he worked up the nerve to go in. Since then, he's done better and better every day. Today he went right in and stayed in the pool listening to the teacher the whole time! He seems to be picking things up, he's not a fan of having his face in the water but we are getting there! He has one more week next week so hopefully that will go well! Here are some photos I took at his lesson yesterday!

Sweet Friends!

A few nights ago I took some 4th birthday photos for one of Mason's best little friends Ava. I found a really great sunflower field to take them in and we brought Mason along for some entertainment for Ava. While we were there we managed to get some candid shots of the kids playing in the flowers. I just LOVE these pictures because they show so well how much these two adore each other! They have literally been friends since birth so it is so cute to see their friendship continue to grow!
