Nursery pics and school shower

Jared and I have been busy these last few weeks making some final touches to the nursery! It was so much fun choosing everything for our little boy! (that still seems surreal to say!) I always knew if I had a girl that I would love decorating her nursery and going overboard on the pink and shabby chic. I must say though, I think I have had just as much fun with Mason's airplane nursery! It has been a labor of love and I can't wait for him to grow up in his room!


Last week was my shower at school! We have SO many pregnant teachers and we are all due within a couple of months of each other, so our team and the 5th grade team threw a double shower for two of us who are expecting boys and due 2 weeks apart! The shower was great and it was so much fun to have someone else to open presents with! (being the center of attention in front of the entire school staff isn't the most fun idea to me!) Baby Shower!

Sorry for the long delay in posting! I was so proud of myself for finally starting a blog then I waited an entire month to make another post. I will try and be better about making more frequent posts in the future! We have had a busy month filled with birthing classes, a mini "babymoon" to Austin, working and get the nursery ready! Last Saturday was our first shower! My good friend Kelly who I have taught with since my first year teaching, and my neighbor Kyla threw it. They did an amazing job! The decorations were so cute and matched our nursery and our theme perfectly! It was such a fun day and was wonderful seeing everyone. My aunt and cousin from Houston even suprised us by coming! Now we have the task of trying to organize all of the amazing gifts! I can't believe that someone who is not even born yet can accumulate so much stuff! Below are some pictures from our day!

I have finally given in to the pressure of starting a blog! I figure that now would be a good time since Mason will be here in less than 12 weeks! I hope this gives everyone a chance to keep up with what is going on in our lives.

This weekend was the culmination of 9 months of anticipation for the 2nd Tye grandchild to be born! We woke up Saturday morning to discover two missed calls and a message that Megan was in labor! By the time we called back, Megan had already had the baby! He is in perfect health and weighs 9 pounds! She was lucky enough to have a relatively short labor and only had to push two times! We are so excited to Jeff and Megan as they start this exciting new chapter in their lives. It will be so fun to watch our boys grow up together. They will only be around 3 months apart in age so I am sure that they will be close friends!

Many people have asked what the theme and colors are for the nursery. We are still in the process of decorating but I thought I would take a couple of pictures as a sneak preview! We are doing a vintage airplane theme with mainly primary colors. It has been so fun picking out things for our little man!

This is the mural we ordered for the wall! It will look just like this except say Mason instead of Holt.

We found these vintage model airplanes at Home Goods this weekend! We are planning on hanging them from the ceiling!
